You have a strong interest in others' needs and well-being. You are pleasant, sympathetic, and cooperative.
Home alone

Being alone in the house definitely has its advantages, but every time I notice how much work it is, to do everything by yourself when the're gone; our veggie garden had to be maintained, watering the plants, driving around for my grandparents, washing the car...

Monday was the famous Lost Marathon at my house and I managed to convert my friends into being Sawyer and Boone fans:P. Unfortunately my dvd player broke down in the middle of the afternoon and we had to move the party to my friends' house somewhere in the middle of nowhere*grin*. Had to drive a friend to the train station at 10pm and we were both freaking out whether it was the 'big bend' already or to just drive right ahead. I chose the big bend and was right, luckily, cos it was mighty dark in the woods and I was scared to death hoping I wouldn't meet a trespasser;). I was glad when I reached the main road:D

Tuesday 2 friends of my high school came in the afternoon to just catch up. One of them is graduated this year and she is applying for a job, garden architect. The other one is studying law and still has 3 years to go. It was nice, but I felt uncomfortable with silences so I tried to lead the conversations so there was always something to say. I hadn't seen them much over the past 3 years since we left high school graduation. And much has happened that they don't know off. They are a part of my past, but I'm not sure if they will ever be that close again as they were back then.

Yesterday was not very fun. My grandmother let me drive around the whole morning to find some cold dish to eat since the heatwave is still very present over here. I didn't find anything and she got annoyed with me. Somehow she thinks I can fly in 15 minutes in traffic from the middle of the city till my home in the 'country-side'. She then had made reservations in a restaurant and I told her on my cell I would be there around noon, but around doesn't mean exaclty 12 o'clock. And she was annoyed again when I arrived there at 15 past noon. That made me pissed too, even though I shouldn't since they are pushing 80 and are feeling under the weather but sometimes you just can't help yourself;). I didn't get better at the restaurant. First, she felt a draft and took another place. Then, there was too much sun on her left arm. Later, her fish was fried too much. After that, my grandfather got angry at her and told her to shut up. Joy. The only thing that made my day after I came back, was when I went to the mail and found the newspaper page that Tina sent me. Thanks girl!! I appreciate it very much. Tell me if I ever can do something in return for you!

Today I took it easy, it was the first day I could actually sleep late, cos yesterday I had to get up early to take the trash outside. I washed my car this afternoon and thunderstorms are to be expected this evening and tomorrow finally a bit of coolness heading our way. Tomorrow evening my parents are coming home again...end of the good life...

Thanks for the support guys, it really means a lot to me...and thank you Freesy for going with me yesterday, even though I probably wasn't much valuable company at moments, but nobody likes to go to those feedback sessions alone...

I'm a bit more positive today. I went to my prof of General Linguistic Science and last time I saw him was horrible. This time he was a lot friendlier, could be cos I was trying to sound calm while last time I was very agitated. We had a rational conversation about the changing of credits from 3 to 5 and how we were going to solve it. He didn't know about the change either, and felt sorry for me, and said that I didn't have to study more material for the retake, just the old stuff, but for 5 credits like the administration says. He gave me some tips to study better, cos I honestly told him that I didn't know what exactly he expected from me. We looked at some example questions and let's hope that this time I finally can get rid of this stupid course!

My thesis promotor said that I had to try to talk more active german instead of only reading*passive* german texts, so I might take you up on that offer Helly/Tina. It will be weird though, I feel more secure with my English...
He also told me they only gave me a 10 for my Hausarbeit, cos there were uncertainties about the "plagiarism" issue, even though I carefully stated my sources at the end of the page. I really need to work on the quoting or paraphrasing thing for my thesis also, cos Hausarbeit is still something totally different than the actual scientific thesis.

The heat is making me feel nauseous, almost didn't sleep at night. I only felt better at the beach where it was 5° colder than where I live.

All my support goes to Tina, who has to study in this weather*1000 big hugs*

I really hope it cools down when I go to Berlin next week, at least on Sunday evening on that damn night train:S

Today was a wonderful day, had so much luck:). I went on my annual beach trip with my mom and youngest uncle G, the weather was fabulous and...I found this dvd I've been searching for years ('The Big Easy'), but since it's so old, I couldn't find it anywhere, I couldn't even rent it at the video stores. I once saw it years back and I loved it, but it was already old then, so;). And a big plus, it only cost 5 euros. Then a few minutes later, I see another dvd that I wanted to have for a long time, called "House of Mirth" with Gillian Anderson, one of my fav actresses. Wonderful movie, top acting.
And then there's my fetish with flared pants;). Lately, fashion has turned against me and is selling this totally icky clothes, like straight legged pants and bermuda shorts, makes me shiver;). When I went to one of the local stores, they had this gorgeous black flared pants, but not in my size, but they called other stores and they still have one in my size in my college city, so guess where I'm going to be tomorrow:P. I'm laying them in stock;).

NCIS DVD

yay, I just read on the Dutch forum that the first season of NCIS will be available over here on the 20th of july! Maybe we can do a NCIS marathon as well Freesy:P

and on top of that, they started Yankee White again on Sunday. I watched the whole time with a smile glued to my face, that really is my fav eppy and the strongest pilot I've ever seen.

was a bit annoyed earlier on when I read what ppl wrote about the reruns. Some said that Ziva was more attractive and more intersting than Kate, an other said that they thought that DPB killed off Kate cos they thought the show had more potential with somebody like Ziva (luckily a member who knew why SA left set things straight, otherwise I might have done it myself:D). With other shows I dread reruns, but the first 2 seasons of NCIS will always be better than the next for me. With the finale of season 2 they lost a part of the show that they haven't been able to restore (yet). But I understand that for ppl who just started to watch going from season 3 that they like those better. I'm still gonna watch the rest of season 3 and what follows, only with less enthousiasm than before...I would miss my Tony too much:P

I'm already tired of my studying...I hate the weather, it's only going to be 11° tomorrow: wind, rain and cold. Feels more like fall season. Actually the weather is reflecting my feelings while in fact it should be motivating me to study;). At least I can look forward to next Sunday, when my godson is doing his First Communion: my first time back in church since..let's see 3 years:D?

it's holiday and I feel totally refreshed.

I had a wonderful day on Monday. Went to see Ice Age2 and shopping with Sara and we exchanged "too late" birthday gifts. She bought me a beautiful silver necklace, I love silver. I hadn't seen her in half a year and every time I wonder if we won't be grown apart, but it seems like we see each other every day. And I miss her already, she's totally flipping crazy, but I love her for it:).

Yesterday I have worked a little for uni, read some in "The Blindfold" by Siri Hustvedt, love my english books for this sester. For the first time, I don't feel annoyed for having to buy them all.
Some research for my thesis subject: I choose "Sieben Legenden" by Gottfried Keller. I have printed tons of stuff to use for my presentation within 2 weeks, that's the first step. Next step is a 20 page excerpt from my actual thesis to be handed in by end of May. It's about feminism and the Mutterarchetypus by Carl Jung and philosophy by Feuerbach.

This afternoon, again some shopping with uncle G;).

Easter Holiday is near, starting from tomorrow afternoon. Officially: 2 weeks of holiday, in praxis: lots of work.
I do intend on spending a day with Lore and Sara, cos in contrary to my life in high school where I studied way too much, my friends come first place now instead of my college work.

My dad was being an ass again yesterday. I kinda get sick of all those arguments my parents have all the time. A childless aunt of my mum wanted to have a family lunch on Sunday, but my dad refused to go cos the "Tour of Flanders" is on the telly. What kind of an excuse is that. I think it's kinda sad when you want to stay home to watch television when the're something social you can do instead, that's like something not even my grandparents would do. They started yelling at each other, and when they sense the're losing, they start dragging me into the process. But I kept silent, don't believe I said one word during dinner. I refuse to take part in this childish discussions of theirs. They are the reason why I never want to become like them or act like them. They each want to drag me into their "camp" by humiliating the other. I distance myself from them as much as I can. I desperately long for my own place and a time where I am not financially dependant anymore.
Let's face it ppl, adulthood is just a myth, everybody believes in it and gives it various cute names along the road like puberty, midlife-crisis and god knows what else, but is it really there??

Finally got around to posting Mel's postcard today:P, sorry for the big envelope;).

The pressure around my thesis is getting bigger and it's starting to annoy me. I wanted to write it in german, cos it's easier this year. This year we have to do a presentation and a 20 pages summary about it. And next year, we have to hand in the full copy of about 100 pages.
The problem: I can't find a book that I like. And german information on the internet isn't that great either. I wanted to find a book about mythology and religion, but every book available about that, we already discussed in classes and now I'm stuck. My 2 professors keep giving me books, but there's nothing that I really like among them and then I feel guilty for having to tell them that I don't like it:S. And it has to be decided next week, cos after the Easter holiday, I have to give that presentation.
So if there's anybody out there who can recommend a good german book, please do so!!!

Listening to Ally saying that I have to update more;), I plan on doing now;).

I just posted the last chappie of my tate fic http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2586867/18/ , so if you want to read it as a whole Freesy, you can do so now;). It really feels weird now that it's finally posted fully:). Have some ideas in my head for another one, but that will probably be a while.

Our original idea for taking a city-trip to Vienna has been changed to Köln, the plane ride was a little too expensive for only a 3 day stay there. And so I've been told that the carnaval there is wonderful, so I hope we have a nice stay. It's double convenient, since we need German newspapers and magazines for my german classes, so I can take them with me on the way back. We're leaving next Sunday morning and stay till Tuesday evening. I don't have classes on Wednesday, so that's fun:). Still haven't figured out how to put pics online, but I hope Freesy will help me with that:P...

Have watched the first season dvd of "Coupling" that I borrowed from Elsie, cos apparently I had been missing out on all the fun and the jokes...and I totally cracked up. Yeah, I agree with all the others, Jeff is hilarious!! And now I really want to see the other seasons as well:D!

Had a rather creepy experience today...family dinner...again;), and on our drive to the restaurant, we had a traffic jam. Apparently an accident had happened just seconds ago...and there was a dead guy at the steering wheel of one of the cars. My parents didn't see it, I unfortunately did see it. Made me feel sick. Couldn't they have covered the body with something, a jacket or a sheet? Seems so unreal while passing by in the car, that somebody just died mere seconds ago, makes you feel all unimportant in the universe. And made me feel drowsy all day.

Still 5 days till the marks of my exams are online on minerva. Same as always, the one part of me wants to know, the other part wants denial and repression.

Kill Ari on tv tonight, where are reruns if you want them? Normally VT4 just loves to rerun the whole season after the last eppy, but not this time, so total confrontation with...burial, misplaced sexual scenes by a grumpy writer, introduction of Jen and Ziva and the starting of a new NCIS team. Further analysis on Scuttlebut:)...

I was totally overwhelmed by all the nice e-mails, SMS'es, cards and wishes I got for my birthday that I wished it was my birthday every day:D. Had to study though, but the amount of attention made it all worthwhile.
Also I'd like to thank everybody for the support you guys gave me on a difficult moment;that's behind me now.I've put myself together again and my last 2 exams of yesterday and today weren't a complete disaster so maybe there's hope for me after all:).

I thought I deserved a little relaxation today after an intense week of studying and I went to lunch with a friend from college and in the afternoon freesy came over to give my present, a home-made cd with songs that I really wanted to have and a lightening sheep with 3 colours:D, haven't decided how that works yet, the box says that the batteries are in it, but nothing happens when I push the putton:D. It's a cool thingy though;).
I totally love the book "Oranges are not the only fruit" from Jeanette Winterson that I got from you Ally!! I had to learn the whole literary cannon last year and I love to read books from it. I really hope I'll get a chance to do that in the summer holiday. Or better, I'll make time for it! A friend I know has the Dutch version and says that it is very good, so in the original language it should be even better:).
From my sissy I got the cd box I wanted: Greatest themes from the most popular TV series. NCIS is not on it though:( but I heard from Helly that all the rights belong to Paramount and even the makers are not allowed to publish their song. Too bad.

I gave my sissy the dvd of "Wallace and Gromit" that I shipped from UK and apparently it doesn't work:(.I really wanted the surprise to be complete:S.

And I got a wonderful Kari vid (Kate/Ari NCIS for non ncis watchers;)dedicated to me by Lulu/Rozefern for my birthday!I secretly always wanted someone to dedicate a vid to me:D and now they have! I love it Lulu, big thanks! You rock;).

Another retake gone bad...made me think of one of my fav quotes from x-files:

"Time passes in moments...
Moments which, rushing past define the path of a life
just as surely as they lead towards its end.
How rarely do we stop to examine that path,
to see the reasons why all things happen,
to consider whether the path we take in life is our own making
or simply one into which we drift with eyes closed.
But what if we could stop,
pausee to take stock of each precious moment before it passes?
Might we then see the endless forks in the road that have shaped a life?
And seeing those choices,
choose another path?"

That is the exact mirror of my thoughts right now...did I do the right thing to choose to go to college? All I see around me is ppl who are much smarter than me and who have to work less than I do, to get much better results. That means I aimed too high..but it's too late now, I'm in the middle, can't go backwards and it ironically seems that I can't go forwards either:S. There's no turning back, I have to eat the cold porridge.Should I have thought more about this? Or did I just choose it because everybody else did? And if I had chosen something else would that have been better then? The only positive thing about all of this...are my friends, who keep supporting me all the time..thanks guys, you all keep me going...

went on an annual visit to my mom's aunt in the nunnery today and it's quite an adventure every time. She gathers this thingies over the year and then I get a whole bag of cool stuff, from chocolate to desk stuff and candles:). I look forward to it. The only thing that occasionaly bothers me, is the fact that I look much younger than I am and one of the nuns thought I was 14:D, while one of my mom's uncles thought I was 17 in November..omg:D..hopefully that will be convenient when I'm like 40;).

Today was the last day of my holiday, tomorrow my last day of class to have 1 lesson and to hand in a task for Theatre History. Then classes are off for a month to study and to take off exams. My New Year's list of this year contained no retakes for this summer, but again, I'm not sure I will make it. It's just so hard to study during those holidays! There's always stuff to do and to go to and difficult to concentrate:(...oh well, I'm gonna do what I can and we'll see where it ends..

yesterday evening I really wanted to try again with my Windows Moviemaker and I started to put together some kind of "behind the scenes NCIS vid" and it worked well in the beginning but after a while it started to block every 5 minutes so I stopped. And I had some fun with my "picture montage maker" and I started to make a Tate vid there:D..yeah, I was kinda in a creative mood yesterday. Not sure if I'm gonna post the results somewhere:).

    <lj:music>Accidentally in love- Counting Crows</lj:music>

today I had quite a shock...I had my first appointment with my new hairdresser and I was already nervous before I left that she was going to do something that I didn't want her to do...and yes she did:(!
I told her quite clear that I wanted it cut in 2 layers so I could put it into a ponytail sometimes, but she cut it into 4 layers and the shortest locks are constantly hanging in my face and before my eyes. I was sooo angry when I came home:@..and most of them are the same you know, you tell them what you want and they do something else...argh:S!

Another weird thing was Ally receiving her present torn:(, I had wrapped it in, a cd and put it into an evelope and sent it and somewhere at a checkpost they most have opened it and it was messed up when she received it. They seriously need to replace those drugdogs or did they mistake a rock cd for a bomb:D? Or did an employee of the post office decide to have a little fun himself:s? Ah, this stuff makes me mad!

anyway, it's veery cold over here and snowing/raining and the roads are going to be slippery tomorrow...
I'm not sure if I'm going to come online tomorrow or the day after(busy days:P)so I want to wish all my friends a Happy Newyear in advance!! Have fun on New Year's Eve but don't drink and drive;).

Christmas Eve was again very cosy, like every year:). I drank too much wine and got a little tipsy:d and because of that I took a few really weird pics:).

I got lots of nice presents: my dvd box of Lost, my cd with the best hits of the year (I collect that every year),an agenda with puppies on and a kristalline little sculpture with my horoscope on it(replacement for the broken one my aunt gave me without a reason and for which I will give her bad perfume in return:D..yeah, I can be bad sometimes;))

Today lots of food again...watching Scooby Doo on telly, tonight NCIS and Without a trace...merry Christmas everybody!!

school's off for almost 2 months now, filled with holiday, studying and exams.
I really can't believe that I'll be studying again. It seems long ago, but then so close too. I still have books, plays and 3 tasks to do and then 10 exams to study! Joy;).

My first work tomorrow will be shopping for food and going to the post office to send your present Ally (I'm really sorry I couldn't send it earlier:(. I haven't got that many cards either, some of my friends are anti-christmas(or anti-Xmas cards):D I gave them one anyway, I'm a christmas person:).We open 2 times presents, on Chrismas Eve and on New Year's. Our tradition is little presents at christmas and big on New Year's. But for so far I've heard most English speaking countries celebrate Xmas day and not Xmas Eve like over here. So it must be a Belgian tradion then.

On Christmas Eve the annual fondue dinner with the parents and unwrapping presents followed by a movie or something:).

Merry Christmas to everybody!! I want to wish all my friends who study too lots of luck with their struggle to get through the material;)!!

It's been a while since my last update, so here it's coming..

last week was a mixture of good and bad things. At my perfume shop I found out that they didn't make my fav perfume Shafali anymore, so I had to find myself a victim who was active at ebay and could get me one last bottle:D (thank you Elsie;)). I remember myself buying a bottle for a gift for Ally last year and that must be about the last months that they made it:(. Go Elsie:D!

I got a message from my friend, who is my hairdresser, who told me that she didn't have time to cut my hair. I kinda understands, cos she works at a spa from 8am till 8pm even on Saturdays, but I really want my hair cut:S.

I finally got around to sending my 2 christmas cards to Germany and Australia and a package to UK. Still a package for you to send Ally:s, I wanted to give you something you really wanted on your xmas list, so tell me soon;)!!

Next week I have to hand in my essay about a Victorian poem and have read a last german book "Die letzte Welt".
Wednesday or Thursday going ice-skating for a birthday party:)!
